Oh look, it’s gender bias
Ugh. Okay so when someone says this to you in the context of “balancing” work and family, this is not a compliment. This is gender bias. Why? Think of your boss saying this to a male colleague. Laughable, right? Yeah. It is. You’ll want to be strategic and/or diplomatic in your response, but it’s important at least to know that this one short sentence is loaded with outdated and inappropriate assumptions. And it’s not okay.
