Once you’ve taken a pause and reframed your perspective, now comes the fun part: do anything. You’re finished ruminating and being frustrated. It’s time for problem-solving mode. Stop trying to change the system and start changing things for *you.* Sure, you can start your own business. But are there any opportunities you could pursue at your current organization in the meantime? Could you cultivate more sponsors, or go on a hunt for new allies? Brainstorm ways to empower yourself out of frustration and into a phase of building and networking. Continue to make yourself more of an asset than you already are. Even if you end up leaving anyway, these moves position you to get paid more and move into a higher-level position.

If you’re looking for more ideas on what to do next, check out the latest episode of my podcast. I interviewed 4 amazing women leaders on how they got themselves promoted to higher levels of leadership this summer.
