In an interview situation, you want to answer questions truthfully, but you also don’t want to give them too much. If an interviewer asks you how you would handle a specific situation, don’t roll out the big whiteboard and start mapping out a play. For one thing, it’s unnecessary. But more to the point, maybe they’ve already tried that approach and it didn’t work. And now they associate you with a thing that doesn’t work. BUZZ.
Instead, keep your answer high-level. Emphasize your leadership style and describe the *approach* you would take, not the exact steps. Now they understand more about who you are. The specifics of what you would do can come after you get the job.
