Feeling like you need to buckle down and compete, work harder, do everything exactly right, do it by yourself and do more of it than everyone else is going to backfire on you. When you get into that competitive mode, you get tunnel vision. All you can see is that person or the people you’re trying to “beat.” Understandable, but unhelpful. Try to create your own lane. Trade that strife for a strategy. What is your vision and how can you get there? Let perfectionism turn to purpose. That’s when things start to happen.
