If you find out you’re not going to be in the upcoming promotion cycle, don’t let that be the end of the story. Ask your boss what you would need to do to be considered in the next wave. What if it were possible? Become collaborators in brainstorming how to make it happen. By staying curious, you keep your options on the table. Unless someone has explicitly shut the door on your leadership, anything is possible. Stay curious to find the path.
