You spent your first 30 days at your new job listening to executive leaders and learning about their priorities and challenges. Now, your next 30 days will be devoted to coming up with a strategy based on what you learned. Then you’ll share that strategy in your next meetings with those people.
This is where you will bring your ideas to the table. These ideas should be grounded in your listening tour from the first 30 days but highlight how your own leadership can help your company face some of its challenges and move forward. Demonstrate how your ideas will make your boss’s life easier. Echo back to executive leadership their previous concerns.
“I heard that X is a priority for you, but that Y has been a roadblock. What do you think about doing Z?”
You’re still listening as you did in the first 30 days. But this round, you’re bringing more of yourself to the table. You’re showing the team that you want to grow and you mean business. And you still have that 3X vision in your back pocket.
